I missed a couple payments as I am fighting breast cancer and didn't realize that they had dropped me for nonpayment. I sent 2 payments totaling $205.00 which they never let me know and cashed the payments. I guess they planned to keep them. Now they say I owed $50 on my balance when they dropped me not sure.
Its been 2 years since our accident and we're still fighting with Pekin to pay what it was supposed to pay. This company is worse than Safe Auto. You would probably be better of driving without insurance than dealing with these idiots.
this is the worst insurance company. Do not buy insurance from them by all means. A tree fell on my truck and smashed my roof really bad. Everyone we talked to and showed our pictures too said it should of been totalled. perkin would not total the truck.

I tried calling their headquarters due to an incident with their adjuster at a local office. The customer service department doesn't have any control. I tried to talk to someone who would take my complaint about an insult I received from their local office in Southern Illinois. The lady on the phone at their main call center says there's nothing they can do but send me back to the local office. After I kept requesting someone at Pekin's headquarters she started to have an attitude and then called me a "liar" and "snotty" and when she was giving me the attitude initially. Worst customer service. Never use their services if unless you don't like being listened to as a customer. I didn't call her any names and I didn't use any swear/curse words. Just her comment shows Pekin's maturity is lacking. They're definitely not going to be my insurance company I'll use in the future. I think esurance had better customer service. I'm surprised a customer service agent is able to lose their "professionalism" that easily when a customer was asking for someone to try to solve an issue.
I don't trust this company because I have been calling for a refund and everyday they say the check is going out today. I don't see why they are keeping my $50.when I was dropped.
